A quintessential Victorian treasure, circa 1890, this ornate and heavily carved cluster ring marries rich 18ct Gold with a vivid green Emerald and a halo of sparkling antique Diamonds!

The raised, sculptural gallery and foliate openwork shoulders give wonderful depth and airiness, letting light play through the stones and lending the cluster a proud, elegant profile on the finger.

At the heart sits a square-cushion Emerald of approximately 0.60cts , encircled by eleven bright round Diamonds totalling approximately 0.22ct. The warm glow of the Gold amplifies the Emerald’s lush hue and the Diamonds’ scintillation, creating a beautifully decorative piece brimming with Victorian romance.

MEASUREMENTS: Emerald measures 5mm long x 5mm wide, weighing approx. 0.60cts.
11 x Diamonds graduate from 1.5mm to 2mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.22ct combined.
Ring band tapers from 7mm to 2mm wide.
WEIGHT: 5.8g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Emerald (0.60cts), Diamond (0.22ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD to excellent : The Emerald is bright with visible internal inclusions and minor surface wear; the surrounding Diamonds are secure and lively with only light wear to the facet edges under x 10 magnification. No chips or cracks. The ornate 18ct Gold setting and raised gallery show light surface scratches with a gentle patina in the recesses, and the openwork remains crisp. There is a visible resize at the back of the shank which is sound and does not affect wear.
